Oak Meadow Garden — Thousand Oaks, CA

A wild meadow in a high fire zone

Our first case study to find balance between Wild Urban Interface’s habitat and wildland fire spread onto structures.  Mature oak trees were brought to enhance local habitat and slow down the spread of fire. An ember resistant zone divides the home from a meadow of local Santa Monica Mountain's plants and other climate appropriate plantings in order to create year round interest and food source for wildlife
